8x8 HDMI Matrix Switch in a Sports Bar

While sitting at the bar the other night I noticed that the game I wanted to watch was on another TV so I asked the bartender if she could change the channel for the TV in front of me. When she picked of the remote and started to change the channel I noticed that she only had one remote control. So I asked how they were managing all the televisions with only the one controller. She pointed to what looked like a server rack tucked into a corner of the room. Inside the rack was a box I had never seen before. Apparently, it is called a HDMI Matrix Switch (she didn’t know that, I had to look it up at this website- KVMSwitchTech.com, on my phone).

This particular switch is an 8x8 HDMI Matrix Switch. It had 8 HDMI inputs for different HD cable boxes and 8 HDMI outputs to connect to the TVs. This is how they were changing the channel for the different TVs in the bar. She said that because the clientele is fairly predictable they rarely have to change the channels on the cable boxes. Instead all they would normally have to do was switch which cable box would show on each TV. What made it even more interesting was that this particular 8x8 HDMI Matrix
can be controlled by a computer locally or over the internet. Pretty cool technology for a little sports bar. Buy 8x8 HDMI Matrix Switches online
