I visited my brother-in-law the other day for Fourth of July celebrations. He is a great musician and I love inspecting all the cool audio electronics he uses. I was rather surprised to see a tilt Vesa Rackmount Monitor set up in his sound room. Below the Vesa mounted display was an American Audio dB-display level meter with its amber and red lights blinking away.
He actually has several rack mountable devices installed on some aluminum racks he hijacked from a dumpster.
Mounting the rack mount lcd monitor allowed him to view the activity on the screen from a position below the monitor. When he is pounding out a rhythm on the drums or playing the electronic keyboard sitting down, he can easily look up from his seat and see the readout on the screen. The Vesa rack mountable monitor tilts in the down direction giving him an easy view of the screen while seated. It was actually mounted at the highest point in the rack and then tilted downwards. This was pretty clever even if he is my brother-in-law. Just kidding!
